2 Finding Survey Results

Task explanation.

DOWNLOAD FILE TWO

You can imagine that it is very common for a teacher to get evaluated by their students. We ran an online survey on the quality of the training they received from any of the JamesWDH trainers. We asked some critical questions like :

  1. Do you think that the presenters were clear enough?

  2. Was this course an efficient use of your time?

  3. Did you find it easy to apply what you've learnt?

And many more. You can visit the questionnaire and fill one in yourself at jameswdh.com/review

I’d like you to build a simple report detailing the results for the last 3 critical questions.

How to details.

This task is best completed by using the powerful pivot tables. Here is how you can find answers to any questions inside of this survey and build a chart quickly.

Let’s take a look at Question 9:

“Did you find the course too difficult for the amount of material it covered?”

First thing you do is take the Data Table from the Excel file. Reach out to the Table Design Tab and HIT Summarize with Pivot Table!

Once that is done, you will have a fresh new PIVOT table on a new sheet!

With this Pivot table we will be able to go get any Question from the field list on the right hand side. Drag the Question in the Rows and Drag them again inside of values. Watch how easily the Pivot Table compiled the results for our data.

You can now clean up your pivot to have the appropriate titles and formats to fit your management needs.

For this exercise try your best to make this table look good and professional.

Maybe even add a chart? 📊
