2 Printing Team Report

Task explanation.

DOWNLOAD FILE TWO

You have started a position as science team manager. After receiving the excel report of the most recent findings from your team head, you realize that the file has the info but does not print appropriately. You could ask your team lead to fix it, but you wonder how complicated it would be for you to fix it!

Could you take the file and print a PDF of each sheet? Clean up the bugs, Decimal formats and add some borders to the tables and hide all the other ones.

Please take the time to do a good job since these PDF's will be your tool in your first management team meeting.

How to details.

Printing these sheets will be a challenge. You can try and print them to see where things go wrong but we could simply define it this way.

All the ###### must be removed by making the column size the proper size or removing decimal points down to 2 and all costs need to have $$$$$

The report should be on one page and the table will need borders.

The Data should have the titles repeated and fit in a page.

The Information Sheet needs to be printed without the grid and in landscape.

Once you have corrected all the page layouts and formats go to print the document and choose your pdf reader option. Be sure to choose the Print Workbook option so that you only make 1 PDF

Ok let us give it a go.

Test information page

This one has a simple issue that can be solved in the Page Layout Tab. First Select the Co2 Data Sheet, go to Page Layout and hit Orientation to change it to Landscape, Remove the Print option on Gridlines and add an automatic Width of 1 page.

Now let us visit the Page with the Data.

Let us remove the ### problem by selecting both columns and going in the middle and double clicking.

Then select a cell and hit CTRL – A and go to the Home tab to add borders everywhere.

Finally for this one, Add the $ format to your costs.

You are still missing the titles to be repeated so that the print looks nice. To do that just go in the Page Layout tab, select Print Titles, and go in the section called "Rows to repeat at the top”, select the first row and hit OK.

Once that is done your first row will get printed on each page. Maybe you could adjust the width to 1 page like we did with the last example

One last page to correct.

The report page will need some movement and readjustment.

First, clean up the decimals down to 2.

Second, add borders to the data.

Third, Move and Adjust the chart down.

Fourth, Set the scale to 110% so that it takes the full page.

Finally, Delete the FakeDataTM cell content

You can check the Print preview page to see what it would look like.

Final Step is to print the PDF.

Go to the Print Page. Choose a PDF printer of your choice and make sure to choose the option to print the entire workbook.

Hit Print and look at that! The document is nice and printed
